Pre-wedding rituals
Laghana Lekhan:
In this ritual, a small puja is held in the bride's house to determine the auspicious time or lagna or mahurat for the marriage. The officiating priest determines the auspicious time as close relatives and friends remain witness to the occasion. The lagna patrika or letter containing the wedding time is sent to the groom's home.
